The Muay Thai community has come together wonderfully for a brilliant charitable cause recently. Supported by influencer Kaz Crossley, in the space of 24 hours, £12,867 was raised in an effort to build a home for the children of Wor Watthana Muay Thai gym.

The aim of the fundraiser is to build a new home for the children at the gym, which no longer has the facilities to support and house any more children. The gym is located in a small village  of north east Thailand. Not only is their current housing situation insufficient to support anymore children (2 apartments), but located 14km away from the gym, meaning the process of transporting children to school and then to the gym afterwards before returning to the apartments is costly and time consuming. The efforts of donators will allow their new housing to be located closer to the school, and also allow the gym to be moved closer to their home.

As an incentive, Kaz and the children at the gym promised to complete 1 kick for every £1 donated within a 24 hour period from the 17th to the 18th of April. This eventually turned out to be close to 13,000 kicks, and the total amount raised continues to grow beyond £45,000 as Kaz’s efforts exceed expectations and can give these children the necessary facilities to have an even start in life. Any future donations, big or small, would be more than welcome.
